Live Streaming Management

Admin Area > Live Streaming

The live streaming management feature is one of the important modules of the LOL Online Learning Platform, designed specifically for faculty and staff. It provides a comprehensive online live teaching management interface. This function supports creating, editing, managing, and setting viewing permissions for live streaming events, and integrates roll call, chatroom interaction, and live record analysis functions to effectively help teachers control teaching progress and increase student participation.


Operation Process Steps

1. Log in and Enter Live Streaming Management

  • Log in to the backend with an administrator account
  • Click “Admin Area > Live Streaming Management”

2. Create a Live Streaming Event

  • Click “Add Live Streaming”

  • Enter the following information:

    • Live streaming title
    • YouTube or Facebook embed URL
    • Event status (Scheduled, In Progress, Ended)
    • Instructor
    • Cover image (recommended 1280x720px)
    • Specify viewing permission (all students or specific classes)
    • Event start and end time
  • Click “Save” to complete creation

3. Edit and Delete Live Streaming

  • Click “Edit” or “Delete” in the live streaming list
  • After editing, click “Save” to apply changes

4. Track Participation Status

  • Query students’ entry time, viewing duration, roll call records, etc.

5. Enable Roll Call and Chatroom

  • Enable “Roll Call” feature, requiring students to check in
  • Enable the chatroom for real-time interaction and questions

Live Streaming Management

Admin Area > Live Streaming Management

Centralized management of all created live streaming events, including ended, ongoing, or upcoming scheduled events.

Title

Enter keywords to search for live streaming event titles.

Class

Dropdown menu used to filter live streaming events belonging to specific classes.

Status

Dropdown menu used to filter different live streaming statuses. Options include: All, Live Started, Live Ended, Ended/Suspended.

Search Button

A magnifying glass icon button used to perform the search.

Add

Create a new live streaming event.

Edit

Edit the selected live streaming event.

Delete

Delete the selected live streaming event.

Batch management is provided for the selected live streaming events in the list below.

Live Streaming List

A table details each live streaming event’s information and status.

Image

Displays the cover or preview image for the live streaming event.

Title

The event name of the live streaming.

Class

Displays which class the live streaming belongs to.

Live Start

Scheduled or actual start time of the live streaming.

Live End

Scheduled or actual end time of the live streaming. If the event has ended, an "Ended" label will appear below the time.

Status

Displays the status of the live streaming (published or hidden) with an icon.

Roll Call

Shows the roll call statistics, with two numbers representing Checked-in and Expected to Check-in counts. A “Details” button below allows viewing of the detailed roll call list.

Chatroom

Enters the backend chatroom dedicated to the live streaming, allowing staff or teachers to monitor student interaction.

Live Learning Record

Click to view the detailed learning record report of all students for the live streaming event.


Add / Edit Live Streaming

Admin Area > Live Streaming Management > Add / Edit

Staff can create or edit the detailed information for a live streaming event, including title, streaming source, cover image, viewing permission, and schedule.

Title

Enter the event name for the live streaming, with a *limited to 20 characters note.

Live End Status

Set the status for the live streaming, options are “Published” or “Disabled”. If published, the streaming will continue to be published on the platform after it ends.

Teacher

Enter the name of the main instructor for the live streaming event.

Live Streaming URL

Used to specify the source of the live streaming, with a note below: EX: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=<XXXXX> OR :https://www.facebook.com/plugins/video.php?href=<XXXXX>, indicating the system supports embedding YouTube or Facebook live videos. Staff only need to paste the corresponding live streaming URL here.

Image

Used to upload the cover or preview image for the live streaming event, which will be displayed in the live streaming list.

Note: Resolution 640x480, size <300k, recommended image size and file size limit are indicated.

Student Chatroom Speech

Toggle switch used to control whether to open the chatroom feature for students to interact during the live streaming.

Viewing Permission

Used to set who can see and participate in the live streaming.

Live Start

Provides a date and time picker so staff can precisely set the start time for the live streaming.

Live End

Provides a date and time picker to set the end time for the live streaming.

Cancel

Abandon all changes.

Delete

Delete this live streaming record.

Save

Save all settings and complete the addition or editing.


Student Roll Call List

Admin Area > Live Streaming Management > Details

Provides a detailed list of student attendance for a single live streaming event, allowing staff or live streaming teachers to track and manage students’ roll call status in real time.

Status Filter Tabs

Tabs at the top of the window allow staff to quickly view attendance based on students’ status:

  • All: Shows all students assigned to participate in the live streaming.
  • Checked-in: Shows only students who have completed the check-in process.
  • Not Checked-in: Shows only students who have not yet checked in.

Student Roll Call List

A table details each student’s attendance and viewing record.

Serial number.

Name

Displays the student’s name.

Account (Student ID)

Displays the student’s account or student ID.

Total Viewing Time

Records the actual total viewing time for the student in this live streaming event.

Roll Call

This is a manual operation field. To the right of each student, there is a green “Check-in” button, allowing teachers or staff to manually take attendance and complete the check-in process for students on-site. After check-in is completed, the platform records the exact date and time the student checked in.


Chatroom

Admin Area > Live Streaming Management > Chatroom

All chatroom conversations in a live streaming event can be fully saved and displayed, allowing staff or teachers to review students’ questions and interactions at any time after the live streaming ends.

Content

Text input box, staff or live streaming teachers can enter text here to send messages to students watching the live streaming.

Select File

Click this button to select files to upload. Supported file formats: zip, xls, xlsx, doc, docx, ppt, pptx, pdf.

Send

Button for sending messages or uploaded files.

Chat Message Record

Displayed as a timeline, showing each chat message in chronological order from top to bottom.

Speaker Avatar and Name

Displays the speaker’s avatar, name, and the date and time of the message.

Message Content

The right side displays the text content entered by the user.

Delete Button

There is a “trash can” icon to the right of each message, granting staff permission to delete inappropriate or incorrect comments to maintain order in the chatroom.

Live Learning Record

Admin Area > Live Streaming Management > Live Learning Record

Provides detailed learning behavior data for all participating students in a single live streaming event. Compared to the “Roll Call List”, this record focuses more on quantifiable learning outcomes.

Date Filter

A date range picker is provided at the top, along with a search button. Staff can set a start and end date to query learning records within a specific time frame.

Learning Record List

A table details each participant’s learning data.

Serial number.

Name

Displays the student’s name.

Account (Student ID)

Displays the student’s account or student ID.

Role

Shows the user’s role on the platform.

Check-in

Displays the exact date and time the student completed check-in.

Total Viewing Time

The accumulated actual total viewing time for the student in this live streaming event, expressed as hh\:mm\:ss.

Viewing Count

Records the total number of times the student entered the live streaming event. If the student leaves and comes back, the count increases.

Usage Notes

  • Facebook embedded live streaming must be set to “Public” and allow embedding
  • If students cannot view, please check if they are logged in and have viewing permission
  • It is recommended to use the latest version of Chrome or Firefox to ensure smooth playback
